Bustling Borders. Reportage from
Our Mekong (2005)

In this volume, the third compilation of stories and photo
essays done by the third batch of journalists in the Mekong
fellowship programme, readers get a taste of the different
cultures and communities form Tibet down to the Mekong Delta,
the push and pull factors that drive the movement of people
and illegal trade in goods, and the ties that bind ethnic
group across borders.
These stories are borne of the thrill of weaving a narrative
with word or photographs, of going on coverage to a new place
as a foreign correspondent, of looking at the same situation
form the other side of the border, or of making new discoveries
that turn preconceived notion on their heads.
In the end, theses hournalists – like the readers of
this book- get to know the Mekong Region a bit better.
