Exploring Borders. Reportage from
Our Mekong (2004)

Whether from the Nujiang prefecture of Yunnan province, the
border between China and Burma, or from the fertile Tonle
Sap down south in Cambodia, the voices, it is the thoughts
and images from the Mekong Region’s journalists that
will accompany you through this book.
As with the first group of fellows, this mix of 17 journalists
from the six Mekong countries, coming from different publications
and media environments, took up the challenge of becoming
foreign correspondents in places they had never been to before,
where they might not speak the local language or know a single
person. Creativity and curiosity became some of their most
useful tools, and how they crossed borders and did their reportage
is by itself rich with anecdotes.
